Justin for Model Number GE WHDSR315W0WW My GE washer will not spin or agitate but it drains and fills and the timer continues to run and moves to a new cycle despite not spinning or agitating. It looks like the belt is in tact. The timer makes a crackling noise only during the spin/agitation part of the cycle. It does this no matter which wash cycle I choose. So I am wondering if you can tell me what might be wrong. Also, I was wondering if the agitator is supposed to be turnable when the washer is not in use. I cannot budge the bottom of the agitator to turn it even though the top of it moves freely. Maybe this is normal? Just curious if this might be a symptom as well. Thanks!
Answer Justin, The first thing to check is to see if there is power getting to the motor. If there is no power to the motor then the issue would most likely be in the timer contacts. If there is power to the motor and the motor is not turning then the issue would be in the motor. If the motor is turning then the issue would most likely be the gear case. Read More...
