Questions & Answers

For Ge Washer Mechanical Timer (Part Number: OEM10257951)

David, The model number WHDRSR315D5WW is incomplete or incorrect. Presumably, you have to turn the cold water faucet off at the wall, or the machine would continue to fill and overflow. If that is the case, you would most likely have a failed water inlet valve WH13X10024(example only) and it will need to be replaced. You will need to verify the correct model number and order the correct valve, based on the model number. Thanks,

Justin for Model Number GE WHDSR315W0WW

My GE washer will not spin or agitate but it drains and fills and the timer continues to run and moves to a new cycle despite not spinning or agitating. It looks like the belt is in tact. The timer makes a crackling noise only during the spin/agitation part of the cycle. It does this no matter which wash cycle I choose. So I am wondering if you can tell me what might be wrong. Also, I was wondering if the agitator is supposed to be turnable when the washer is not in use. I cannot budge the bottom of the agitator to turn it even though the top of it moves freely. Maybe this is normal? Just curious if this might be a symptom as well. Thanks!

Justin, The first thing to check is to see if there is power getting to the motor. If there is no power to the motor then the issue would most likely be in the timer contacts. If there is power to the motor and the motor is not turning then the issue would be in the motor. If the motor is turning then the issue would most likely be the gear case.

William, You will want to test the pump to make sure that it is getting 120vac when the unit is calling for draining. If it is getting 120 vac then you will need to make sure that there is nothing clogged in the pump that would cause the unit to not drain. If this checks ok then you would want to replace the pump. If the pump is not getting power then you would want to replace the timer.

Hello Shannon. If all is working, you need to check and make sure the pressure switch is good, and the pressure hose is clear with no holes and the air dome on the side of the tub is clean. All will prevent the unit from spinning.
