Tom for Model Number LFXC24796D/00 I have and LG refrigerator which has recently had a compressor replaced and the PCB software updated by a "LG certified technician" and he didnt really seem to know what he was doing. After it was replaced, I let it run for about 5 hr but unplugged it after it wasnt working. I have a good friend that is a refrigeration tech and he came to take a look at it. There was a leak where the technician brazed in the compressor, so he fixed it and added refrigerant but he said the compressor wasn't pumping refrigerant. My question is how would the compressor run if the software update wasn't done correctly? Would i just need to update the software or would the compressor have been damaged already and need to be replaced again?
Answer Tom, If the software update was not done properly or at all then the update will need to be done correctly. If the software update does not correct the issue then it could be that you received a faulty compressor which is not overly common but does happen from time to time. Read More...
