David S for Model Number LG Dryer DLE5955G HI, I have a brand new LG Dryer DLE5955G, that I ship it overseas... When I was there, I connected the power cable to it (the big one with 4 wires that I ship it too from US) I plugged the power cable as follow: (4 wires: (the voltage between black wire & white wire was: 220V), ( the voltage between the Red wire and the white wire was: 220V), and the Green wire was for the ground)... Then, I pushed the Start button on, the dryer turned on fine for about 5 seconds then turned off by it self... Since then I couldn't turn the dryer on... Please tell me what was the problem? is it the voltage that need to be 110V instead? and what part(s) that has been damaged, and what should be done to get it fix? Thank you so much in advance for your quick answer..
Answer David, There is an adapter that you would need to allow the unit to operate off 440 vac 50 hz as opposed to 240vac 60 hz. By connecting without the the adapter to convert the power, the control board is now bad and would need to be replaced. Read More... Answered by AppliancePartsPros.com | Monday, August 26, 2013
