Connie L for Model Number LGWT1101CW washer I purchased new a washer Model WT1101CW June 2014. After using it for nearly a year, we noticed that it would take extremely long times completing the wash cycle. I called to have a service rep come out to check it, and he did not find anything wrong. So, we continued on and finally figured out it was during the final cycle, many, many times it would go to UE. That would take hours and hours or even a second day to complete 3 or 4 washers of clothing per week. It was enough to make a preacher cuss! I kept complaining and a LG tech came out and replaced the main control part. He had talked about very light loads or unevenly distributed clothing will cause problems and to have a mixture of clothing in the wash. Now, I have done two loads. One with jeans, shirts and underwear. It went to UE. I redistributed the clothing and I completed the cycle. The second wash was a lighter load with gowns, hand towels, socks, and it continually went to UE. After the second time, I took out a small bath rug and towel. It went to UE again. I repositioned the clothing and finally it completed the cycle after going through UE four times. Then, I put in the rug and towel I had taken out, and it completed the cycle without any further problems. This is a typical wash day experiencing these problems. Any help suggested???? I was so thrilled to get this set and was recommended by Consumer Reports and now I am very, very disappointed. I've never had washer problems with my Whirlpool washers over 50 years of use and was hoping this one would last, but I am ready to junk it. Wash days should not take this long and should be able to wash all sizes of loads without problems. I'd appreciate any advice without having to pay for it because I really feel the washer is defective.
Answer Connie, Aside from the clothes issue you will want to make sure that the unit is leveled. If it is off just slightly it can cause an off balance error. Also you may want to check the balance ring to make sure that the solution is still in it. The last thing would be possible faulty springs on the suspension rods. Read More...
