Steve for Model Number LPXS30866D My freezer is cooling fine, but the refrigerator part will cool but won't get below 47 degrees. I ran the test program and found the evaporator fan not working, replaced and fan will operate on test cycle but the top fridge still not cooling below 47. I think I narrowed to bad PCB assembly, PCB control board or main control board not turning on evaporator fan. Can I test either of those to narrow further?
Answer Steve, it would be recommended that the refrigerator temperature sensor is tested for resistance to identify if it is reading properly. At 50°F the resistance should measure 19.53KO and at 41°F it should measure 24.13KO. If the sensor measures outside of this range, the sensor would need to be replaced. A sensor that fails by reading colder temperatures than there actually is would cause the evaporator fan to not operate properly. Read More...
