Answer

Ken, This issue sounds like the run winding on the motor may be bad. The unit will start via the start winding and after a few seconds the centrifugal switch switches to the run winding and keeps unit running. The motor windings should have a resistance value of 3-5 ohms. Check from terminals 1 to 3 for resistance values.
