Gary for Model Number LG WM2487HWMA Hello, l have a LG WM2487HWMA washer. It has a problem spinning the drum. The problem started with the drum rocking back and forth, then it would start spinning. This problem ended up making control board at the back of the washer go bad. (No power to the front panel). After the control board was replaced the problem is now that it has a jerky motion when spinning. The resistance of the coils for the stator, on the 3 pin connector, are 1-2 7.7ohm, 2-3 7.7 ohm, 1-3 7.8 ohm Could this be a problem with the position sensor?
Answer Gary, Thanks for the question!!! It is likely that the drum flange assembly 4434ER0002H has broken. This is typically easy to identify by opening the door of the machine and pushing on the stainless drum. If the drum wiggles separately from the outer tub then the spider arm has failed and needs to be replaced. Typically a sensor issue would not cause jerky motion. The motion is typically caused by unbalance, which with the broken arm allows the drum to drop out of the center. Read More... Answered by AppliancePartsPros.com | Tuesday, January 17, 2023
