Jason for Model Number DLG2302R I have serviced my LG (DLG2302R) dryer many times already and am very familiar with it. Recently, one of the drum rollers went out. It started screeching, and finally seized up. After replacing the rollers, when I try to start it, it doesn't do anything. Totally quiet... as if the motor is burned up from the seized roller. Hoping you can tell me what to check before buying a new motor. Thank you.
Answer Jason, the belt switch EBF61734701 would need to be tested to identify if it has gotten stuck in the open position. With the power cord to the unit unplugged, the switch would be tested for continuity when the idler arm is up (idler arm can not be on the switch). The switch should have continuity, and if it doesn't, it would need to be replaced. If it tests good, then the blower thermostat 6931EL3002M would need to be tested for continuity and replaced if it does not have continuity. If those check good, then the unit will need to be inspected for any loose wires. The last check would be a voltage check at the main control once everything is put back together. With the unit on, the voltage to the motor would need to be tested at the brown wire for 120VAC. If there is 120VAC, then the motor 4681EL1008A would need to be replaced. If there is not 120VAC, then the main control EBR36858802 would need to be replaced. Read More... Answered by AppliancePartsPros.com | Tuesday, January 14, 2020
