This micro switch is a compact, snap-action electrical switch that sends an on/off signal when a lever, latch, or paddle is moved. Replacing a worn switch restores reliable detection and control response for the affected function.

  • Converts mechanical movement into an electrical open/close signal to the control
  • Commonly used for lever/paddle actuators, latches, or interlock detection within the appliance
  • Safe symptom clues: no response when actuated, intermittent operation, or a function stuck on/off
  • Physical clues: weak or absent "click" when pressed, heat discoloration or damage at terminals
What's included: 1 micro switch
  • Disconnect power before servicing; if the product is connected to a water line, close the supply valve
  • Note wire positions and terminal labels (COM/NO/NC); transfer wires one at a time to matching terminals
  • Match the actuator orientation and mounting position to the original for proper operation
  • After installation, verify continuity with a multimeter and test function before reassembly

Questions & Answers

For Lg Micro Switch (Part Number: OEM17009430)

David, Using a multimeter check for 240vac to the terminal block on the back of the dryer, then use the tech sheet/wiring diagram and the multimeter to see if there is power into the control board.

Stew, This issue would most likely be caused by a faulty control board with all the selector lights being lit.

Hello Glenda, you would need to access the dryer interior and using a multimeter check the door switch, thermal limiter, belt switch. If all check ok the main power board would need to be checkered that it is sending 120v to the drive motor.

Joel, based on the information provided, it sounds like the main control EBR62707629 is dropping the voltage supply to the display and not activating the relays properly. With this in mind, it is recommended that the wires are inspected for any bare wires that may ground out going to the motor and the heater. If there are no grounded wires, then the issue would most likely be the main control.

Jason, the belt switch EBF61734701 would need to be tested to identify if it has gotten stuck in the open position. With the power cord to the unit unplugged, the switch would be tested for continuity when the idler arm is up (idler arm can not be on the switch). The switch should have continuity, and if it doesn't, it would need to be replaced. If it tests good, then the blower thermostat 6931EL3002M would need to be tested for continuity and replaced if it does not have continuity. If those check good, then the unit will need to be inspected for any loose wires. The last check would be a voltage check at the main control once everything is put back together. With the unit on, the voltage to the motor would need to be tested at the brown wire for 120VAC. If there is 120VAC, then the motor 4681EL1008A would need to be replaced. If there is not 120VAC, then the main control EBR36858802 would need to be replaced.

Diana, start by checking to make sure you have 240 volts going to the dryer, next check the door switch, the drum belt switch, and the thermal fuse located on the rear of the blower housing. If these all check ok, there should be a diagnostic sheet on the dryer to allow you to check for error codes.

Peter for Model Number dlg3788w

Hello I have an lg dryer that recently just didn't heat up anymore, so I try to fix it. First I thought it would of been my igniter that was broken. It turn out its fine. Next I replaced the high limit thermo, and also the regular themo too. The inside is clean up from dust and lint. Now this is the problem that I can't seem to solve. My dryer would start up and dry 1 full load of clothing. Shortly after I would load a second load of clothes. But this time it start n turn like usual, but without heat this time. I have to take apart and press the reset button on one of the thermostat. What I can't figure out is why it keep repeating this over n over. After one load it stop heating until I reset the thermo, then it works 1 load then stop. Please let me know what part is causing this drama, because I already replaced 3 things that still works.

Peter, With the thermostat having to be reset after one load of laundry, the first thing that you will want to check would be the dryer venting that goes from the blower wheel to the outside of the home to ensure that there is no blockage. If the vent is restricted or blocked it will cause the thermal fuse to trip.

Doc for Model Number DLE3733U

I have an LG DLE3733U dryer. it seems to get very hot and shuts off. the electronics will not come on until cooled down. i have the vent straight through so not even a bend to make sure thats not the issue. I have just replaced all 6 sensors in this dryer. 1-Hi limit therm.(AP4440975) 1- therm assembly.(AP4440977). 2- moisture sensors (AP4445128). 1- thermistor Assembly (AP4441539). 1- therm. assembly AP4440976. I replaced all of them just because I really only wanted to disassemble the dryer one time. Im not sure what else is causing this. The vent does seem to get really hot but figured it should. Can you advise. Thank you for your response.

Doc, Even though the vent is straight with no bends you will want to check the outside to make sure that the vent is opening and that there is no lint clogged in it which will cause the unit to overheat. The only other thing would be is if there is stuff wrapped around the blower wheel.

Hello Homeowner. No, the micro-switch 3W40025D is to see if the belt breaks, it shuts off the dryer. The motor switch is made into the motor assembly 4681EL1008A. You will need to order the motor to repair the problem with the switch. Hope this helps.
