Howard Allen for Model Number Magic Chef MCO160UW Hi, Microwave went black, like it is unplugged, after the fan turned on by itself while cooking on the stove (not the micro). After the fan turned off the oven was dead. I have checked the two T-Stats in the base of the cabinet and the fuse in the AC power supply. The fuse is good, both T-stats are OPEN as checked with VOM. I think one of them is bad according to stories on your website here, but you don't say which one is supposed to be normally open and which one is supposed to be normally closed. Please describe by terminal size, the small terminal one is closest to the end panel, the large terminal one is closer to the oven interior. I am getting no voltage to the control panel circuit DC supply so am assuming this is the problem.
Answer Howard, The thermostat 3518906800 is the bottom cavity thermostat and should read Normally closed. The thermostat 3518905500 is the fan thermostat.
