Randy B. for Model Number Jenn-Air JFC2290VEP0 The temperature on the Freezer keeps rising to about 5°F or 6°F. There is a small amount of frost on the back wall near the vent. There is a clicking sound on and off that lasts about 20 seconds. When we turn off the ice maker by raising the bar, the temperature seems to stay at 0°F. Refrigerator temperature also sometimes goes from 38°F to 40°F. I thought it might be the condenser motor? Any ideas?
Answer Hello Randy, You can use the diagnostics on the units' Tech Sheet to determine what component is failing. It sounds more like the start relay with the clicking sound you have heard. The frost build-up on the back wall of the freezer sounds like there could be a defrost issue. You will need to remove the rear freezer wall to see the frost pattern and the start relay on the side of the compressor may also need to be replaced. Read More...
