Byron for Model Number RF28HMEDBSR/AA-0000 Ice maker icing up, replaced with a new one and it is starting again after 4 months. Is there something else I should replace?
Answer Byron, based on the information provided, it sounds like there is an air leak. With the ice cleared out around the ice maker, it would be recommended that the seams where the ice bin section meets the refrigerator wall are inspected. With the bin removed, shining a light up towards the seam while looking down into the seam can identify if there is an air leak. If there is, the RTV sealant DA81-05595A would need to be used to seal the seam and the Y-clip kit DA82-02367A would need to be installed. Read More...
