Randy S. for Model Number DV45H7000EW/A2-0000

Tonight my dryer would not shut off on its own. I had to open the door to get it to stop spinning. It's worth noting the heat was not on while it was "off", and it did complete its cycle. The drum just keeps running while power is off. I was able to fix it by starting a new cycle while the drum continued running, and it did heat up like normal. When I powered it off after this, all is good again. Does this sound like a sticking relay in the PCB? If so, I want to get it replaced fixed ASAP. I am very capable of doing the repair on my own. Thanks

Answer

Hello Randy, This can be a harness issue or a control issue DC92-01626B. Check all points where the harness contacts anything to include neighboring wires before replacing the control. I would run the System Check Mode to verify the motor relay operation. To enter the System Check Mode, start with the machine in the "Off" State, press the Dry Level and Power Keys at the exact same time. “ t2 ” will display. System Check Mode will accomplish the following: Motor (CW) Relay On then Heater Relay On then Heater Relay Off and Motor (CW) Relay Off. If it fails to stop upon completion, the relay is the issue.
