Pat for Model Number F197ACRS/XAA About a year after purchase, the condensate drain froze. I defrosted it. 2nd and 3rd time happened within a month of each other. I'm thinking it might not just be the clip that dips into the drain. The heater? The temp sensor? What else could it be? The parts are all cheaper than hiring someone and cleaning out the fridge is such a hassle I'd prefer to throw parts at it. What else should I be checking? What else might need replacement? Thank you! Pat
Answer Pat, In most cases this issue would be caused by the probe that goes into the drain tube. The one that is originally on the unit is normally too short. The new part would be DA61-14306A. If this has already been replaced then the sensor would be the most likely cause for the unit to freeze the line. It would tell the control board to come out of defrost too soon which would turn the compressor on and cause the freezing issue. Read More...
