The Refrigerator Ice Maker Assembly is an OEM part for Samsung refrigerators. This assembly is responsible for producing ice automatically in the freezer compartment. It includes the ice mold, water inlet valve, and other components necessary for creating and dispensing ice cubes.

Causes of a bad ice maker assembly can include wear and tear on mechanical components, mineral buildup that clogs water lines or the inlet valve, or electrical failures in the control mechanism. Physical damage to the ice mold or housing can also compromise functionality.

Symptoms of a bad ice maker assembly include:

  • Failure to produce ice
  • Leaking water in or around the ice maker
  • Misshapen or incomplete ice cubes
  • Unusual noises during operation

This OEM Samsung replacement is also compatible with select Kenmore refrigerators.

Dale for Model Number samsung RF267ABRS

The ice maker had to be replaced shortly after purchase of this fridge several years ago and the replacement has all along been an annoyance. It sporadically, whenever it feels like it, crushes cubes, it clogs up in the chute and then releases an avalanche of ice, etc. I am told Samsung has issued a new style upgrade ice maker. True? Do you sell this upgraded new model? Do you have feedback indicating whether or not it represents an improvement over the old model? Many thanks, Dale

Answer

Dale, Yes, the icemaker has been reworked from the original. The part we sell is the most recent revision of the ice maker. Unfortunately, the issues you are experiencing have nothing to do with the actual ice maker. The crush or cube all happens in the ice bucket which is part number DA97-11117A. I would also make sure the ice chute door is sealing well not letting in moist air and making all the ice cubes stick together.
