Evelyn T for Model Number RFG297AARS Frig is less than 5 yrs old. Ice maker has never worked efficiently. The compressor was replaced this spring, the repair man thought this would fix the ice maker problem. They have now replaced the ice maker and still NO ice at all. The original ice maker made some, sometimes. Now they told us we need a new computer chip. What sounds correct, and how much more do I need to pay and do to have a functioning ice maker? I already know I will never buy or recommend a samsung appliance.
Answer Evelyn, You will want to check to see if water has run into the icemaker and that the ice has formed. If it has and will not eject unless pushing the test button then the control board is faulty and would need to be replaced. Read More... Answered by AppliancePartsPros.com | Thursday, August 8, 2013
