Pip for Model Number Samsung side by side RS2530BSH

I have Samsung side by side RS2530BSH. I turned off the ice maker after it over-flowed and froze a large block of ice in the freezer. I did a full defrost and have now installed a new icemaker unit, DA97-02203G. the install was easy. The reset button cycles and tips the tray but no water is filling the tray. The water dispenser works correctly and the icemaker selection on the front control panel is turned to cubes. Suggestion on how to get the water flowing to the ice tray?

1 Answer

Pip, Make sure that the water line is not frozen and if it is not then it sounds like the water valve would be faulty and would need to be replaced.

Roger

I ordered a part back in September of last year. The part I ordered was DA97-02203G. The problem is I received part number DA-97-02203H (which has a stair step mount where the screws go but should have been flat all the way across where it mounts. This is one of those projects you intend to get around to but time just gets away, so my questions are Could I still send the part I received back and exchange it for the right one or do I have to just re-purchase another one and hope the right part comes in? The previous purchase info is: Inv Doc: 5111837 PO Number: 10568322-9275342 Pick Ticket: 4531283-01 Any help I can get would be greatly appreciated.

Kathy, it sounds like you have a defrost drain clogged up and not able to drain out.DA97-04046A Is the part number in question you would need to access the back panel and remove it and clear the ice covering the drain. A garden sprayer with hot water will allow you to clear the drain where water will flow out. Then pull the unit out and remove the lower rear cover and replace the drain tubes.

Jeff, You will want to check the water valve that is in the unit to make sure that there is 120 vac getting to it when the icemaker cycles. If there is not 120 vac then the icemaker would be the issue and if there is 120 vac then the valve would need replaced.

Patrick Barrett for Model Number RS2555SL/XAA

Ice maker Samsung DA97-02203G started dropping ice too early while the middles are still water. water goes down on cubes and welds them together. ice is formed on the auger. and the whole thing becomes a ice dam. auger can't move. as far as I can see, when it fills the tray after dropping cubes, no leaks or drips. temp set at -14. reads about 4 on digital thermometer. can the heater under the tray be staying on continueously? this is a new ice maker last may

1 Answer

Patrick, While it would be possible for the heater to stay on but would more likely be a issue with the thermostat on the icemaker itself where the icemaker owuld need replaced. Also you would want to make sure that the the temp setting is at -2 to see if this will correct the issue.

Hello Jody, If the cubes are hollow you will need to replace the water valve DA62-00914B. If the cubes are solid you will need to make sure the temperature in the freezer is 0° to 10°F. If so, replace the icemaker DA97-02203G. The cubed ice is dispensed only when the lever on the ice container is actuated so you will need to determine if it is being actuated. If so, an electrical issue has been eliminated and the issue is likely to be the ice dispenser solenoid DA74-40151G.

Kyle, With the icemaker having to be manually cycled, this would most likely be caused by a faulty main control board that is not reading the sensor properly.
