Richard for Model Number RS2630SH DA99-00692H REV(0.3)

I inherited a non-operating Samsung RS2630SH refrigerator. The start-up relay was disconnected and the circuit protector was lying in a pool of gooey tar at the base of the compressor. There are three electrical pins on the compressor, unfortunately I see no designation as to how the relay and circuit protector are to be connected to those pins. The relay will fit on any combination of pins. How do I determine which set is correct? Also I see a discrepancy regarding the schematic and the circuit protector. The only wire connected to it is the red wire that comes in the relay harness. The circuit protector I have seems to have only one terminal. The schematic shows that it should also be connected to the line-in neutral. I can find no appropriate loose wire in the cabinet to connect a second terminal. I see the plastic cover for these parts, #18, in the diagram but not in the parts list. Is it available?

Answer

Richard, The cover for the start relay and overload is part number DA63-01866A. The way to determine which pins the overload goes on and the relay goes on is they are in a triangle with one point either up or down. The up or down point will be where the overload goes and the relay will go on the other 2. The red wire will go on the one terminal of the overload protector. There is a sky blue wire that will attach to the PTC relay on the left side if the overload is in the up position and right side if the overload is in the down position. There is also a pink blue wire that will attach to the opposite side of the PTC from the sky blue.
