Karl for Model Number RSG257AARS/XAA-00 I need some help. I have the Samsung rsg257aars. The refrigerator side is not cooling. I can feel the upper portion of the fridge isn't cold, but bottom is fine. I have twice taking out the food on shelves , removed twin cooling cover, and used a hair dryer to get rid of ice on the condenser. Once ice is removed the temperature gets back down to 34F from much higher and the upper fridge is cooler again. About 2 or 3 days, I have to repeat the process. Condenser is working. Refrigerator cools when Ice is removed Fan works Heater element has continuity (110 Ohms) Door seals are fine What I will check next: Thermistor/It does look like something overheated because some black tape is melted. How many temperature probes in this area? Is there one or two? It appears the refrigerator defrost isn't kicking on. If thermistor is good, what else should I check. Thank you in advance, Karl

It sounds like the sensor located on the evaporator may be the issue. If it test good though, the main control board would be the cause of the no defrost. Read More...
