Questions & Answers

For Samsung Refrigerator Temperature Sensor (Part Number: OEM12410559)

Ursula for Model Number ursula.scheren@gmail.com

My Samsung fridge keeps making the dinging sound as if a door is ajar but they are not. Also the temps keep fluctuating while the noise is happening. I had the mother board replaced for the same reason last yearRecommended by a Samsung repair service) but after a short time it started again. The weird thing is that it stops for a couple of days and then it can start making noise again. Could this be something to do with the Temp control wire?

1 Answer

Ursula, You will want to test the door switches on the unit to make sure they are good. The door switches are normally reed switches that are activated by a magnet. You will want to check them to ensure that they are good.

George, it is possible that the freezer thermistor DA32-10105H has failed. The sensor can be tested for resistance from the main control using two wires at the connection CN30 when the refrigerator power cord is unplugged and a thermometer placed in the freezer. From the light blue wire at pin 3 to the gray wire at pin 7, the resistance of the thermistor should measure 13290O of resistance at 0°F, 10823O at 5°F, and 8867O at 10°F.

Karl for Model Number RSG257AARS/XAA-00

I need some help. I have the Samsung rsg257aars. The refrigerator side is not cooling. I can feel the upper portion of the fridge isn't cold, but bottom is fine. I have twice taking out the food on shelves , removed twin cooling cover, and used a hair dryer to get rid of ice on the condenser. Once ice is removed the temperature gets back down to 34F from much higher and the upper fridge is cooler again. About 2 or 3 days, I have to repeat the process. Condenser is working. Refrigerator cools when Ice is removed Fan works Heater element has continuity (110 Ohms) Door seals are fine What I will check next: Thermistor/It does look like something overheated because some black tape is melted. How many temperature probes in this area? Is there one or two? It appears the refrigerator defrost isn't kicking on. If thermistor is good, what else should I check. Thank you in advance, Karl

1 Answer

Karl, There is a bimetal on the side of the evaporator coil in the refrigerator section that you will want to check for continuity as well. It sounds like the sensor located on the evaporator may be the issue. If it test good though, the main control board would be the cause of the no defrost.

Jarrodfessler for Model Number SAMSUNG REFRIGERATOR RS261MDBP

My refrigerator and freezer will not get cold. The fridge is not very old like 6 years old. the fridge was working great and then it just quit working. I first replaced a little black electrical part ( 1" square looking condenser?) in close to the circuit board and it didn't change anything. Now I was told it might be my temp switch? Any help on what parts I need to fix this would be great. I would also need to know where to find this item and hopefully and can do the repair myself. Thank you,

1 Answer

Jarrod, With both freezer and refrigerator sections not operating it would be recommended to first check to make sure that the compressor is running. If the compressor is running then check the frost pattern on the evaporator coils. If there is no frost pattern on the coils then this would most likely be a sealed system issue in which you would need to have service to repair. If the compressor is not running then check to see if there is 120 vac getting to the start device and if there is then this would likely be a faulty start device and would need to get part number DA96-00174G.

Tom, Both of these sensors are for the freezer compartment and the DA32-10105H will go on the back side of the cover. The sensor part number DA32-10109W is showing as the defrost sensor located on the top of the freezer evaporator assembly.
