Blaine for Model Number RB215LABP My freezer shows -2 DegF when it is actually +18. The freezer seems to cycle ok but with a offset of 20 degF. Is this the sensor used for the freezer compartment control? If so what should the reading be at ambient and can it be calibrated at the control board?
Answer Hello Blaine. This is the temperature sensor for the unit. Here is a chart to go by on testing the sensors. Thermistor Temperature Resistance 77°F..................10,000 ohms 36°F..................29,500 ohms 0°F....................86,300 ohms You can test this with a multi-meter MA-DM1. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. Hope this helps. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
