My Samsung French door refrig has that problem of ice pooling up under the freezer basket. I've added the additional copper wire to the evaporator previously twice (more wire the second time), but it's been humid here and the problem has reappeared. The next time I go in to fix, I plan to have the additional parts with me and replace them whether necessary or not. So here's my question: does my refrig have both the defrost temp sensor and the thermal fuse? If so, then I will want to buy both. I also plan to buy the clip drain evaporator piece of aluminum to add to all the copper wire I've wrapped around the evaporator heating element. I have basically plan to throw the kitchen sink at this thing the next time "I go in." Wish me luck; I am tired of this thing's drain freezing up and pooling up ice. Again, please tell me if I can order both the defrost temp sensor and the thermal fuse, and I will be ordering that evaporator drain clip thingy. Lastly, is there anything else I can buy and strap on this thing? Please advise. And, yes, I will unplug the thing before "I go in." Thanks a bunch! Your videos ARE helpful.

Answer

Diane, You will want to check the tube in the back of the unit to make sure that it is not clogged up as this could be what is causing this issue. The thermal fuse would not cause this issue but a faulty defrost sensor could cause it. Also check for air leak around the freezer door.
