Dc for Model Number RF265ABWP/XAA-0000 I have no ice making capability. I have checked and have water pressure to the control valve. We left for vacation last year, turned off the water in the house but totally forgot to turn off the ice maker. My suspicion is that the solenoid on the valve was continuously on as the refrigerator continued to try and make ice, thus burning out the solenoid. Is this a feasible assumption or am I way out in left field here?
Answer Hello DC. Yes, it is reasonable. Test for power to the valve. If there and no water, replace the valve on the unit. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3.
