Robert Scott for Model Number TAWS850PQ0 I need to get the old agitator bolt out and the head of the bold is rusted to the point that I can not hold a socket down on it. Any suggestions?
Answer Robert, you may want to try a small amount of penetrating oil or "rust buster" applied to the bolt head, let it soak a while, then use the 7/16" socket and extension. You may need to use a small block of wood, and small hammer to "tap" the socket down enough to get a proper "purchase" fit on the bolt to loosen and remove it. Otherwise you'll need to chisel or cut out the agitator cam and dogs, so you can remove the upper agitator then remove the bolt using a wrench and a pair of pliers to hold the agitator shaft in position.
