Mark for Model Number WTW5640XW0 Codes stored are f1 and e2 start led is flashing and so is lid lock. The unit will not start. I have removed the shift actuator and the white cam will not move freely. This all began after the machine was in a final spin and there was a very loud grinding sound. I had to unplug the machine to stop it, the pause and power button did not work. The tech sheet appears to be missing so I cant follow the test procedures. Thanks for any help
Answer Mark, the spin basket will need to be tested by rotating it to see if it spins freely. If it does not spin freely, the motor belt can be removed to isolate the issue to being something in the gearcase side or the motor side by attempting to rotate the spin basket again. If the spin basket still does not rotate freely, then it will need to be inspected for any items that may have found a way in between the basket and the drum. If that checks good, then the issue would likely be in the gearcase W11132267 or from the shifter not properly setting the splutch W10721967. The splutch would need to be inspected for any signs of worn teeth. If the basket did spin freely with the belt removed but not when the belt was on, then the issue is with the motor assembly W10836348. Read More...
