Travis for Model Number WTW4816FW2 We had the power on and off multiple times during the recent cold weather event in Texas. The washer filled - started washing - power went out and then the washer would not work. No lights would come on at all but it had power. I figured it was the circuit board - took all connections loose from the circuit board - plugged just the power wires back on it and the board lit up. I put it all back together but it will now fill for a bit - stop momentarily - then start filling again. It never locks the lid while filling. Went through the diagnostic sequence and the sensing light flashes. The "drain / spin" cycle works perfectly (locks the lid, drained and spins fine). I don't know if the board got fried or could it have something to do with the shift acuator? At one point i did hear a loud screech from the bottom of the machine and it looks as though the agitator attempted to move but I thought that might be trying to sense the load. The water level hose hooks directly to the back of the circuit board - no switch that i can find - hose is clear. Thanks for any advice you can provide...
Answer Travis, It would be recommended that when in the service diagnostics, that you check the error codes to see if there are any errors. The error code will guide you to what is going on with the unit. This could be either a faulty control board or a faulty shift actuator. Read More...
