Nhaps for Model Number ED5RHEXNL00 Problem: freezer normal, fridge very warm with ice buildup on the air damper, on the extremities of the vent grid. What I did: removed the big metal lid on the back of the freezer. The bottom part of the coil was all frozen, especially on the lower right side. Under the coil base sheer ice including through the hole that goes to the bottom of the unit. I thawed everything with a rounded object and hair dryer. What I am doing: Its working fine now, but I am on the lookout for any freezing again on the freezer side that will hamper air flow to the fridge. Temperature set to number 3 for both freezer and fridge. What is the cause of this problem? I cleaned throroughly the bottom coil of the unit. If the problem happens again I will check for the timer, heater, thermostat continuity. I have a digital multimeter Newcason model XC6013L, and I am wondering if I can test them with it.
Answer Nhaps, With the issue that you are having, this would have been caused possibly by the door not closing all the way and allowing moisture to build up in the return air duct or maybe a slow drain. Make sure that the drain is flowing properly. Read More... Answered by AppliancePartsPros.com | Wednesday, August 27, 2014
