David for Model Number RBS245PDB8 Whirlpool single oven. Wife was trying to use a pizza stone and oven was set at 425. Stone was on the bottom rack. At some point the oven locked. The oven was then turned off. There was a strong 'chemical' smell. Error code of E1F5. At this point oven will not heat. In past I have been able to unplug both top and bottom elements and then oven works. Not this time. Oven had breaker turned off. Then tried element trick. No such luck. Then tried clearing code and doing the hold button down for a minute to generate E0F2 code. No go. Breaker on and off multiple times in process. When testing element by turning on Bake (which does not generate any heat) and opening door, the oven does give 'Door' warning so the door probe does work. Then checked bottom element continuity. About 30 Ohms. So OK there. Top element is about 20 Ohms. Your turn ;)
Answer Hello David, the first error code is telling you that your lock latch doesn't lock anymore. The second error code refers to a stuck key which would make sense since you held down a key for a minute or so. You'll want to test the solenoid on the door lock for 175 ohms. If it test good, test the door switches, if they test good more than likely you will need to replace the control part number 8186024. Hope this helps! Read More...
