Rob for Model Number JDS9860BDS My touch pad has slowly stopped working. First a couple of buttons stopped then everything but the clock and the timer stopped working. I think I need this control panel to correct the problem. If that is correct, I see the screws under the panel that need to be removed, but will I need to remove the two screws near each of the igniters to get the top off? These screws on my range are completely rusted. You really can't even make out the head. How should I go about removing these? I have pictures if that would be helpful. Thank you!
Answer Rob, The control panel would most likely be the cause of the unit keypad not working. You will want to check the ribbon harness to make sure that there is no corrosion and that it has a good connection. If there is corrosion you can use a electrical contact cleaner to clean the harness. If this checks ok then the control panel is the most likely cause and the main top would not need to be removed in order to change out the control panel. Read More...
