Bb for Model Number Jenn_air JDS9860BDS 1. The panel did not malfunction all at once. First the clock didn't work, then the fan. Now the 1-6 temperature buttons don't respond. Could there be other parts needed rathen than a complete new control panel ? 2. Can the control panel be replaced by removing just the front covers without removing the entire top, including fuel lines? 3.Can a power outage, which was probably responsible for the first breakdown, mean this is an electrical problem not a control panel problem? Answer Hi BB. Yes, if you suspect the power outage being the issue, then you need to call your local power co. to ask if you can get a whole house surge protector installed for your home. Then you need to verify if there is 240 vac supplied to the unit with 120 vac from both L-1 and L-2 sides to neutral (white) wire. If you lost one side of the 120 vac this may be an issue. Make sure all terminal nuts are tight. You can remove the oven door to access the underside of the control panel screws. Remove the knobs. Then you can remove the top screws on the control panel. Then you can unscrew the clock mount screws and unhook the wires after taking a cell phone picture or marking the wires for proper reconnection. Reassemble in reverse. Thank You. Read More...
