Lynn for Model Number mde9700ayw maytag Will not stop in auto mode. Continues to heat and run after auto time has expired. Seems to be too hot also. What is the assy guide sensor for? I understand this senses the wetness of the clothes and shuts the dryer off when it detects dry clothes.
Answer Lynn, The sensor is exactly what you said it is for. It senses the dryness of the clothes and based on the resistance that the sensor shows will allow the unit to shut off. If the unit continues to run after the clothes are dry you will want to check the sensor and if it checks ok then replace the control board. Read More...
