Wayne May 30, 2018 for Model Number MDE9700AYW Dryer won't start. Ran the diagnostics and the code that came up was a "10"; no wet clothes. I checked the sensors and both tested fine. Tested the two white wires and no shorts.
1 Answer Wayne, Try to clean the sensor bars with rubbing alcohol as there may be a build up on them and if this checks ok and the wiring is good then the control board would be the issue with the unit. Read More...

Kevin December 23, 2015 for Model Number dv410aew/xaa samsung electric dryer This problem is with a samsung electric dryer while using the sensor dry mode. First load of wet clothes dries fine. When I load the second load the dryer will run for 3-5 minutes and shut down leaving wet clothes in the dryer. In order to get that second load to dry I must unload the clothes and leave the dryer door open for about 20 minutes (presumably to cool down?). What needs to be fixed so that I can use the dryer continuously without waiting for the cool down? Thanks.
1 Answer Kevin, You will want to check the rollers to make sure that they are not causing a unnecessary drag on the motor. If this checks ok then check the blower wheel to make sure that there is nothing clogged causing the same issue. Also check the venting of the unit to ensure that the venting is not clogged. These could all be factors in the issue that you are having. If all of this checks ok then check the thermostats to make sure that they are good and have continuity. Read More...
Steve March 15, 2015 for Model Number DV218AES/XAC by samsung I have a drying problem, the dryer run well but I don't have any heat at all. I cleaned every duct and in the dryer to no dust left anywhere. What can I do?
1 Answer Steve, You will want to check the thermal fuse, and thermostats for continuity. If there is no continuity then replace the part. These are the most common reasons for no heating. Read More...
1 Answer DCO, First remove the sensor from the drum, and mark and disconnect the wires. Clean the sensor assembly, especially the metal bars, with a rag and alcohol(this should remove any build up from chemicals or oils from softener, etc.). Using your meter place the leads at the ends of each metal strip, there should be a "closed" circuit reading on each bar. Place the meter leads across the two terminals where the wires were connected, there should be an "open" circuit. Place a wet rag or metal object across the two metal strips, the meter should then show a "closed" circuit. If all's OK reattach the wires and install the sensor assembly. Read More...
Don September 27, 2014 for Model Number MDG9700AWW When you turn on the dryer, the gas burner goes on for about 1 minute, then goes out. I replaced the flame sensor and coils on the gas valve, and it didn't help.
1 Answer Don, You will want to check the vent system from the blower wheel to the outside of your home to ensure that there is nothing clogging the vent or the blower wheel. Read More...
Gregg January 31, 2014 for Model Number DV330AGW Dryer has power. Push the start button the dryer doesn't start. The red light on the selector button flashes as at the setting it is on as does the first arrow. On the display. What can be the problem? Thanks
1 Answer Hello Gregg, If the button is not working, you will need to replace the user interface DC92-00384B on the unit. If the button works, then look for a broke belt on the unit. Also, if the belt is good, check the thermal cut outs in the unit. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
Hugo October 07, 2013 for Model Number DV331AEW/XAA 01 SAMSUNG DRYER Hi! When a programing to self shut off the dryer. When the clothes is dry do not dry good the clothes still wet, but if. I put to dry by time like 30 min 45 min works good. I like to now if is the moisture sensor or heat sensor. Thank you.
1 Answer Hello Hugo. It sounds like the venting system is clogged or kinked. You will need to check the vent and clean it out. Be sure and clean the vent pipe and the dryer air duct assembly. If the air flow is not good, the unit will retain moist air causing the clothes not to dry. Try running the unit with the vent unhooked from the back of the dryer and see if the dryer works properly. Lynn October 05, 2013 for Model Number mde9700ayw maytag Will not stop in auto mode. Continues to heat and run after auto time has expired. Seems to be too hot also. What is the assy guide sensor for? I understand this senses the wetness of the clothes and shuts the dryer off when it detects dry clothes.
1 Answer Lynn, The sensor is exactly what you said it is for. It senses the dryness of the clothes and based on the resistance that the sensor shows will allow the unit to shut off. If the unit continues to run after the clothes are dry you will want to check the sensor and if it checks ok then replace the control board. Read More...
Amanda September 18, 2013 for Model Number mde9700ayw My dryer will work for a few loads then quits heating. We have replaced the fuses and the thermistor multiple times and it keeps blowing.
1 Answer Amanda, You will want to check the venting to the unit from the blower wheel to the outside of the home. If you have a restricted vent it will cause the thermal fuse to continue to blow. Read More...
