Lindsey for Model Number wtw57esvw1 We have a Whirlpool Washer we purchased in February 2010. I believe June of 2013 the temperature switch went out... we ordered a new one and replaced it. Worked great for about 1-2 months then went out again. We swapped out the part thinking it could be faulty. The new one lasted a week and went out. .. swapped it out again. The most recent switch lasted 3 days. It is doing the same thing.. it will not fill, will not agitate but if you manually turn it to spin it spins fine. Thinking it may be something in the machine I was missing causeing the switch to blow I called a Appliance Repair man to come look at it. He found nothing except for the fact the temperature switch was out. He asked if it had received any power surges, not that I am aware of. I called whirlpool and of course they are of no assistance since the machine is out of its measley 1 year warranty period. I have a family of 7 who generate a huge amount of laundry. This is extremely frustrating and a huge inconvience. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Answer Hello Lindsey. This is caused by raising the lid after starting a cycle. Try replacing the lid switch with the new temp switch and make sure no one raises the lid after a wash cycle has started. Read More... Answered by AppliancePartsPros.com | Thursday, October 10, 2013
