Monica for Model Number Maytag ?MVWC6ESWW1

Our washer won't start and fill with water at all. At the beginning when we pulled the timer knob it was only making humming noise, but nothing happened. And then we found a video on youtube which shows that is a wire problem at the bottom of washer. https://youtu.be/Sga33AjuXTM Which was true, we found the little red wire what is connected to motor capacitor and was broken off at the end of terminal, so we replaced the wire. We've tried to use it without clothes first, it seemed working fine, and then put some clothes in there and won't start again. I've kept looking for answers for our problem and then I found an other website what says it could be the motor capacitor. So we ordered that part and replaced it, still won't work. It spins, rinses, but only when I turn the timer manually. After that we called a repairman who gave us some advice to replace the timer, because that is the one what causes the problem. We replaced that too, still nothing happened, same problem. I was so upset, so I've kept looking and I found an other answer what says it could be the circuit board/agitation delay. We ordered that too, but still nothing. Now I'm so disappointed and exhausted, because we spent a lot of time and money to fix it and still have the problem. Our last option must be the temperature switch. Do you think that parts is the one what we should replace to make it work again? I don't want to order that part until I get a acceptable reason.Thank you

Answer

Hello Monica, The problem you are experiencing is in the start circuit. This circuit includes the harness, the timer, the lid switch and the motor assembly. The motor WP661600 is the most likely suspect.
