Ed for Model Number WTW57ESVW0 My washer has been thrashing and vibrating abnormally during the spin cycle,I recently replaced the 4 suspension springs and the condition is better, but still not solved,I think I need to replace the balance ring, how can I tell if the balance ring is faulty. is there a way to diagnose a bad balance ring? Thanks, Ed
Answer Ed, First check and make sure the washer is level in both directionss, and as close to the floor as possible and the levelling leg nuts are locked in place, and the rear self levelling/locking legs are locked in place. To access and remove the tub balance ring, you'll need to, flip the control panel up, remove the cabinet, then unsnap the tub cover clips and set it aside. You may need a screwdriver to carefully release the plastic tabs that hold the ring to the openings in the inner basket. Once you have it removed, you want to check for any hairline cracks in the assembly, and if you shake the ring, you should hear and feel a water "sloshing" noise. if the ring is OK.
