Patrick Mcdonald for Model Number AFI2538AEB I have an Amana bottom freezer refrigerator, model AFI2538AEB. The ice maker doesn't work and the water dispenser works intermittently. When the water dispenser won't energize, it can be made to work by opening and closing the right hand door. The light will come when opening the door. The door display does not flash and appears to have normal function. both fill valves have been replaced. Could this be a control panel or display panel issue or something else? I would appreciate any suggestions.
Answer Patrick, The dispenser is routed through the light switches so that the dispenser cannot be used when the door is open.
