For Whirlpool Board, L.V. Ice2o (Part Number: OEM12242025)

Timothy M for Model Number Amana refrigerator model # AFI2538AEW

My refrigerator dispenser control board seemed like it was acting up the touch points were not working. Could not adjust temp of fridge of freezer or adjust from water to ice mode. And the compressor would not come on . Temperature was rising on fridge and freezer, I took the front panel off to look at the plug ends to the board and when I unplugged the one end close to the lock button everything came back on and fridge and freezer working again, control board touch pad works perfect now ? But I’m unsure what the plug I unplugged controls ? Like I said everything is working now so I left it unplugged for now, what does the thing I unplugged control ?

Hello Kelly, thank you for contacting Appliance Parts Pros. If the display is lit but the keypad is unresponsive you would need [W11221359] or the display board [67006294] has failed. If the display board isn't lit then voltage checks will need to be made to determine what has failed. If you remove the user interface from the door there should be a 4-pin, 4-wire connector with Black, Yellow, Red, and Pink wires on the board [67006294]. With the door closed you should be getting about 12 volts DC from Red-Black. If that voltage is present then the display board has failed. If that voltage is not present then we would need to check voltage at the main control board [W10890094] in the back of the unit. Here you would be looking for the J6 connector with Yellow, Black(possibly, only on some models), Blue, Pink, Red, and Black wires in that order. Again, Red-Black should have about 12 volts DC. If voltage is present here but not at the user interface then the wiring through the unit or the door has failed. If voltage is not present here, you likely have a bad main control or a bad door switch.

Hello Brenda, thank you for contacting APP, If the unit is not dispensing ice or water the issue could be with the Switch built into the Chute Extension WPW10131128 or the User Interface(UI)/LV Board 67006294. If the unit seems to be operating correctly other than not dispensing ice or water I would suspect that the switch in the Chute Extension has failed. You may be able to narrow this down by calling for ice and water and seeing if the dispenser light comes on, if it does then the UI is seeing that the switch has been closed, but is not communicating that to the HV Control W10890094, which indicates that the UI has failed.

John, Removing the board will cause the unit to not operate. Check with a company called Corecentricsolutions.com to see if they may have a rebuilt board or you can send yours to them for repair.

Dennis, Using the tech sheet check for power to the led lights, if there is power and no light replace the light, if there is no power then check the output at the dispenser control PAB and replace as needed.

Steve Trinh for Model Number MFI2266AES10

My Maytag refrigerator model MFI2266AES control panel 7-Segment LEDs are flashing and the ice door opens and closes constantly. I have replaced the HV control board Part WPW10310240. the refrigerator is working normally for one or two day, then it problem is come back the same. After turn machine off for few hours, displace is back on for another day and so on. What makes it like this happened? Any other controller board or components are defective?

Patrick Mcdonald for Model Number AFI2538AEB

I have an Amana bottom freezer refrigerator, model AFI2538AEB. The ice maker doesn't work and the water dispenser works intermittently. When the water dispenser won't energize, it can be made to work by opening and closing the right hand door. The light will come when opening the door. The door display does not flash and appears to have normal function. both fill valves have been replaced. Could this be a control panel or display panel issue or something else? I would appreciate any suggestions.

1 Answer

Patrick, The dispenser is routed through the light switches so that the dispenser cannot be used when the door is open. It would be recommended to try the door switch first even though the light comes on it could be a faulty switch.

Marty, With the main control board having been replaced, this will most likely be an issue with the chute extension part number WPW10131128.

Matt, If the ice and water are only working when the compressor is not running then this would likely be caused by a faulty main control board.
