Byron Hi, we have a maytag centennial dryer. Yesterday, it quit running, so I went and checked it out. I tested the thermal fuse, and it was bad, so I went to a local store, got the part and changed it. It ran fine. this morning, they tell me they were using the dryer, and there was a spark from the knob area. They had turned off the breaker. I switched it on, and the dryer lights came on. I put the dryer on cycle, and the motor doesn't come on, but the heat element got red-hot very quickly. I've unplugged the dryer. My question: where should I start with my testing? The thermal fuse again? Or is this the motor? Thanks in advance for any help you can give me.
