Rick for Model Number YNED7200TW My dryer's lint filter does not seem to be catching all the lint, so every couple of months, I have to pull out the dryer and remove the lint that's blocking the vent to the outside. We also have to remove lint that is in our outside vent. From seeing every other lint filter on other dryers, there seems to be a felt going around the edge to make sure the lint doesn't go through the vent pipe, but mine doesn't have any felt and seems to have a lip around the edge to fit one in. I assumed the felt had somehow fallen off, so I went to buy a new lint filter and it also does not have any felt on it, so the lint is still going through my vent which defeated the purpose of buying a new filter in the first place and I'm about to return it. My question is: Should these lint filters not have a felt around the edge (since it seems to be the only reason why lint is getting through)? And if not, why doesn't it have a felt when all the other dryer filters I see have a felt around the edge? Many thanks in advance.
Answer Rick, This filter will not have felt around it and the dryer lint filter will not be able to collect 100% of the lint even with the felt around the top and this would be considered normal operation. Read More... Answered by AppliancePartsPros.com | Wednesday, March 22, 2017
