John for Model Number Kenmore Elite Dishwasher Model 665,13413K701 On my Kenmore dishwasher the chopper blade is not spinning when engaged with the shaft from the impeller assembly on the pump. The issue does not seem to be the chopper blade or it's shaft. Rather it seems the small black shaft from the impeller is not turning when the chopper blade is engaged. My question is should the the chopper blade be spinning whenever the impeller on the pump is, or is there a clutch mechanism within the impeller assembly that engages the chopper blade during a draining cycle? I need to know if I need to replace the impeller assembly to resolve this issue with the chopper blade not spinning, as the chopper blade and screen seems to be fine, but is continuously clogging. I ran a draining cycle with the door opened and the chopping blade exposed and engage and did not see it spinning..
Answer John, The shaft for the chopper blade should go on the impeller and if the shaft is ok then you will want to replace the impeller assembly. Read More... Answered by AppliancePartsPros.com | Monday, February 27, 2017
