Rudy for Model Number LSQ9010LW2 Both upper and lower agitators barely move during wash cycle. The dogs and coupler were still good but replaced them with new parts since it was already apart. Examined the inside of the lower agitator where the splined metal shaft fastens to and saw that the lower half of the plastic splines in the agitator was worn out. This caused the lower half to wobble a bit and lose traction. Also, when I reassembled everything, both agitators would initially turn but not as firm and eventually stop rotating. I checked to the splined metal shaft to see if there was any irregular sloppiness or movement which there wasn't. I'm thinking the entire assembly including the pieces in between are just worn out (17 yr machine) and decided to purchase a whole new agitator assembly to start from scratch. My question would be if replacing the entire agitator assembly will resolve the non agitating action and what type of white grease do you apply to plastic washer insert? Thanks. rudy
Answer Ruby, try taking the entire plastic agitator assembly off and watch the metal shaft as it turns, does it turn normally back and forth? If it does not, you will need a new gearcase, if it turns good but the splines on the metal shaft are worn too much, you will still need to replace the gearcase. Read More...
