Kent for Model Number wtw4816fw3 When trying to remove the agitator hold down bolt, the entire assembly moves/turns so that the bolt can not be removed. The agitator is loose from the shaft. How to remove the bolt?
Answer Hello Kent, thank you for contacting APP, You will need to secure the Agitator/Shaft so it cannot move. Sometimes a ratchet strap wrapped around the agitator and then secured to the unit or to a 2x4 that you can hold onto to keep the shaft from moving will work. If that does not work because the agitator is spinning on the shaft the agitator will need to be broken into pieces to access the shaft and then the shaft itself secured so that the bolt can be removed, and the Agitator Assembly [WP3951744] will need to be replaced.
