The Complete Agitator Assembly is an OEM part for Whirlpool washing machines. This assembly includes the central vertical agitator component along with the retainer ring. Together they are responsible for the agitation and rubbing motions that work to remove soils and stains from clothing during wash cycles.

Causes of a bad agitator assembly can include wear and tear leading to wobbly or loose motions, cracks in plastic components from repeated impacts, or corrosion of metal components.

Symptoms of a bad complete agitator assembly include:

  • Vibration or shaking issues during agitation
  • Improper or lack of agitating of clothes
  • An agitator that is difficult to rotate by hand
  • Cracks, missing pieces or corrosion visible upon inspection

This OEM part is also compatible with Maytag, KitchenAid, Jenn-Air, Amana, Magic Chef, Admiral, Norge, Roper, and some Kenmore models.

Corie for Model Number Kenmore Series 80 washer Model 110 22882 100

Hello~I have a Kenmore Series 80 washer that is having agitator problems. First, the agitator base/augur/agitator is coming loose during the washing cycle, so much so that it actually can (very easily) be pulled out of the washer (one whole piece). This has happened before and we were able to screw it back on but that is no longer working. Now, not only is the agitator needing twisting (rotating the base one way and the top piece of the agitator the other way keeps it coming completely out so easily) it is no longer agitating. The washer fills, spins, and drains completely but the clothes are not getting as clean and the detergent isn't mixing well. Is it possible to fix it?

Answer

Corie, Yes it is possible to "fix" your washer. You first have to determine why the agitator is loose and coming up and off the agitator shaft. There is a 7/16 in. bolt and washer that hold the agitator assembly to the shaft. You'll need to remove the agitator cap, then the cover and ring, to check the bolt. You'll also want to remove the agitator, and check the "dogs" and cams 285810 for excess wear and damage or distortion, this could cause the agitator auger to operate eratically, the auger should move freely in one direction only(counter clockwise) if it will turn in either direction, the dogs and cams will need to be replaced
