Steve for Model Number Kenmore 106.55522400 I believe my ice maker is toast and needs to be replaced. When I try and pull part number info from your web site (and others) for my particular model number it always comes back only showing a la carte parts, and not the full assembly. I have run across comments online suggesting the part #2198597 is the full unit that is compatible with my fridge, but before I buy it, I wanted to make sure this is correct. Why doesn't my model show up with the full assembly part number associated with it? Thanks! Steve
Answer Steve, You didn't mention why you think your "my ice maker is toast and needs to be replaced" especially with this type / style refrigerator. You may want to try this first: Open the freezer door and observe the LED light on the switch housing on the right wall. If the LED blinks twice then a pause, press in on the flapper on the left side of the opening. If the LED light continues to blink, there is an issue in the control boards W11629974 and probably not the ice maker. You were correct, the complete ice maker assembly is available 2198597. Most manufacturers try and leave as many options as available to customers, but in todays economy, it's a bit "rough", they depend on the parts distributor and their parts personnel to "do the right thing" and advise the customer of possible options.
