Karl A Essex , MD November 25, 2015 Appliance: Maytag Refrigerator MSD2553WEW01 Ice maker was not working light was flashing twice pause repeat While looking on Sears parts page, they had "online technician" feature and I got in a live chat with him. He mentioned some diagnostics but insisted the intake valve in back was the problem. I replaced that for about $90 and the problem was still there. Based on online forums and Appliancepartspros information, I tested the unit and decided it was the emitter board instead. I ordered the part and it works now - the paper provided with the part is the only place I could find an accurate explanation of the light blink error codes- see if you can find it. if you need ice while waiting for the part -or want to confirm it is the emitter that needs replacing, take off the right emitter panel and put an insulated wire jumper between the black and black/white wires and close the door. If the machine makes ice, then you need a board - remember to remove the jumper when the ice bucket is full or you will have ice all over the freezer. Ronnie P Hickory , MS April 01, 2017 The ice maker stopped making ice I first removed the ice maker and looked at the control module for obvious issues but found nothing that looked like a problem. Getting the wire harness connector to separate was tough. I ordered a new ice maker and also a water valve. I replaced the ice maker. Still no ice. I then replaced the water valve. No luck. After reading more information on Appliance Parts Pros I decided that the issue was with the ice level power control board kit. I ordered the board kit and when it arrived I replace both circuit boards. It is easy to get the connector plugged in wrong by being one pin off to either side. Not much slack on the wires made this more difficult than it should be. This fixed the problem. It started working in a short time and we now have ice. I now have an extra ice maker and an extra water valve. This is still better than buying a new refrigerator.
