Carlonda for Model Number ED22UEXHW02 I am trying to replace the Compressor Start Relay Device. I cannot get the white wire to disconnect from the old unit. I have tried pulling with nn pliers but can't get it off. Don't want to break anything. A white jumper wire suggests it is jumping to something. I can distinguish where the female end goes but not the other end...the photo in the instrustions doesn't really help here. Any clarity offered would b appreciated.
Answer Hi Carlonda. The white wire disconnect has a lock tab in the center that will purposely lock into a small hole designed at the terminal. You will use a pick tool to reach inside and release this lock. The relay kit is part # 8201799. Very important to follow the directions that guide you to the proper pick of the overload. Sometimes it is the last resort and use a small pair of needle nose pliers next to the wire body and break away the old relay side so you can release the white wire tab. This is the neutral wire and it will not run without it. There is a small white Jumper wire that will extend the white wire to the proper size relay terminal. The red wire goes to the overload. The blue from the capacitor goes to one side (S) on the compressor. And the whites go to the (R) run on the compressor terminal. Thank You. Read More...
