Ped for Model Number ed22qfxhb02 bought part number 8201799 and went to replace old starter on side of compressor but there was nothing on the side of the compressor as far as a starting device. (not sure if anyone has serviced the appliance before but it has worked well since we have owned it for over 7 yrs.) it looks like capacitor is run straight to the side pins on the compressor. is this correct and should i put the kit i bought on the side of the compressor as instructed. if so where does the capacitor come into play. how would i wire it correctly?
Answer Hello Ped, The capacitor that is on the unit is a 3 n 1 hard start. If the compressor has stopped running with this part on it then the compressor would need to be changed. The 3 n1 hard start uses higher amps and will damage the compressor internally. This was probably put on previously due to compressor not running and would need to have compressor replaced for unit to work. The Start relay that you purchased would probably not allow the compressor to work again. Read More... Answered by AppliancePartsPros.com | Friday, January 25, 2013
