Sharee for Model Number 106.50793000 Refrigerator stopped working. Compressor not coming on as well as the condensor fan. Replaced the overload relay which did rattle when removed and basically was shattered inside and plugged it in. The compressor didn't come on and the fan didn't come on as well. Everything inside works lights, fan etc.... If the fan moter is out would that keep the compressor from coming on as well? Thanks!
Answer Sharee, The condenser fan motor not running would not cause the compressor not to run. The fan motor could cause the relay to blow if the compressor was running with the fan not going. You should look at the freezer thermostat from red to a known neutral for 120 vac to see if it is sending power to the compressor and subsequently the condenser fan motor.
