Rem 1061, The compressor Full load amps should be 1.2(+/- 15%) so you're a tad on the high side of the range. But for the age of the machine, we wouldn't be too surprised. Are you sure the condenser coil is clean of any lint or debris, and the fan is running at high speed ? Since the capacitor "went bad" have you checked the compressor motor winding resistances, and or the overload/relay to see if they are keeping the compressor energized, or of it's dropping out early ? Otherwise, it sounds like you may have a loss of refrigerant or a restriction in the sealed system .
